YOU CAN HELP PALESTINIAN CHRISTIANS - The Olive Branch Chapter of Pilgrims of Ibillin is continuing to sell beautifully hand-carved olive wood items. These carvings come directly from Bethlehem and Beit Sahour - the town of the Shepherd’s Field next to Bethlehem. Proceeds go directly to Palestinian Christians to provide employment for the wood carvers and and to support education for children. For more information or to purchase these beautiful items, contact Cerena Fischer at 630-289-4942 or by email at cmfischer2@aol.com. You can also view photos and obtain more information on the Bethlehem Imports website - http://www.bethlehemimports.org.

A PILGRIMAGE TO THE HOLY LAND - THE JOURNEY OF A LIFETIME - Rev. Dr. Paul Kirbas and his wife Jennifer will be the hosts for the tour. They will lead you on a complete 10-day pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Come and find out what you will see and experience in Israel and at the many Holy Sites. The trip will leave Chicago on March 30 and return on April 9, 2008.

  • This is your chance to walk where Jesus walked
  • Visit the places where Christianity began
  • Meet the Christians who have been living there for 2000 years
  • Explore the history, architecture, culture where our own religion began
  • Worship at the holiest sites of your faith
  • Connect with Mar Elias Schools in Ibillin

One of the places that you will tour is the excavated site that dates back to the time when Jesus would have played in the streets of Nazareth. There were only 40 homes in the village then, so you can be sure that one of these would have been a home He visited or where He may have lived . You can see the different levels of civilization that came after this time - Byzantine, Crusader, and more. This site is not open to the public; but because of our connection to Ibillin, a special invitation has been extended to us from the Bishop in Nazareth.  Please contact Dr. Paul J. Kirbas with any questions at 630-668-5147.
